Nyag chu (Yalong) is an 1,323 kilometers (822 mile) long river in the Kham region and starts in Trindu county.

It is a tributary of the Dri chu (Yangtze / Chang Jiang). Its source originates from the Tibetan Plateau , and its confluence with the Dri chu (Yangzte) is in Nyachuka county north central Yunnan.

The rich nomadic pastures of Sershul extend through the upper reaches of the Nyag chu (Yalong),
The county capital is located at Jumang, in the Nyag chu valley,
There are 43 monasteries within Sershul county,
Area : 20.477 sq km.
