RUSSIA: The spectacular and world famous facade of the Cathedral of Basil the Blessed - officially known as The Cathedral of Intercession of Theotokos on the Moat ( , ) in Red Square, Moscow. Popularly known as St. Basil's Cathedral, a Russian Orthodox cathedral built between 155561 to celebrate Ivan IV's conquest of Kazan. The cathedral has operated as a division of the State Historical Museum since 1928, was completely secularized in 1929. The cathedral is part of the Moscow Kremlin and Red Square UNESCO World Heritage Site.
