Mumbai Dhobi Ghat. India
fredcan (away) posted the photo:
The dhobi is the normal laundryman, who collects your unwashed linen, rinse it, as well as lapse it orderly pulpy to your doorstep. All fhat for the pittance! The garments have been dripping in sudsy water, thrashed on stones, afterwards tossed in to huge vats of boiling starch as well as hung out to dry. Then they have been ironed as well as piled in to neat bundles.
Dhobi Ghat is the unique underline to Mumbai (Bombay), located during Saat Rasta near Mahalaxmi Railway Station, where many families of dhobis work together.
