This is a small lake Karsar tso, that upon its tall bank lies a Karsar nunnery of a Gelukpa school. A Gelukpa nunnery dating from 1642. Southwest of a lake, have been at least 335 very old stone tombs, that have been excavated since 1984 and have been protected. Above this site is a Kharsar Gompa formidable - where a reconstructed community and nunnery were established by a Third Kharsar Tulku.
There have been thousands of lakes opposite a Tibetan Plateau. Most geologists believe that a mountainous country was covered by a sea in a past. When a sea retreated, it left innumerable lakes behind. Many of a lakes have been salt H2O lakes. Most of a lakes, generally upon a northern Tibetan Plateau, have been solidified for most months of a year.
