The Welsh towering ponies have been a strong breed going behind to at slightest a Celtics. They have been good suited to a extreme weathers they face upon a towering ranges of Snowdonia in this box a Carneddau. In this box this young foal was upon a slopes of Foel Fras above Llyn Anafon.. In a Tudor times of around 1509 King Henry VIII systematic a ponies to be destroyed since they could not carry a knight in full armour, luckily they did not succeed. The Romans however admired a ponies for their strength as well as agility as well as used them while in wales as well as even shipped a little of them behind to Rome to carry out assorted tasks upon their homeland.

Situated in the foothills of the Carneddau mountain range in a steep sided valley on the Coedydd Aber Nature Reserve near to the village of Abergwyngregyn. The Afon Goch plunges over an escarpment one hundred and twenty feet high into a marshy area where it is joined by two tributaries; the enlarged stream, Afon Rhaeadr Fawr, heads towards the Menai Strait where it joins the sea. Part of the way way down it becomes Afon Aber Garth Celyn, more recently known as Afon Aber. Torrential after a storm, in winter Aber Falls can freeze enough to attract ice climbers. To reach the falls involves a walk of around a mile up a gently ascending path. The plentiful spray from the waterfall has encouraged the growth of plants such as wild angelica and lady's mantle, which thrive in the rock crevices around the fall. Ear labrets are worn by women, but also men. When a Suri woman is about to be married, usually in her teens (around 14 or 15), she disappears from village life to live in her family hut. The gap between her front lip and the flesh below is pierced and gradually stretched. In the beginning a hole is made in the lip with a wooden stick. The strecth continues as successively bigger discs of clay or wood are accomodated by the disfigured lip. Generally the two lower front teeth are pulled (or knocked) out to aid the process. The final size of the plates determines how many cattle the woman will receive as a dowry, so the more stretched her lip the better, and the more the more cattle the woman is worth.
