Oystercatchers (Conwy)

The oystercatcher is a large, stocky, black as well as white wading bird. It has a long, orange-red bill as well as reddish-pink legs. In flight, it shows a wide white wing-stripe, a black tail, as well as a white posterior which extends as a 'V' in between a wings. Because it cooking cockles, a population is vulnerable if cockle beds are overexploited. Breeds upon roughly all UK coasts; over a final 50 years, more birds have proposed breeding inland. Most UK birds spend a winter upon a coast; where they are joined upon a east coast by birds from Norway.
